Port Fairy’s Premier Bed and Breakfast Location
No.1 offers offer a delightful alternative to the traditional bed and breakfast for Great Ocean Road travelers and others visiting Port Fairy: with the whole cottage to yourself you can settle in and make yourself at home.
At the front of the cottage are a cozy sitting room with an open fire and the high-ceilinged master bedroom, while two more bedrooms open off the central passageway. The once external kitchen has been incorporated into the house, creating a light and spacious kitchen/ living room. French doors open out to a private sheltered cottage garden, perfect for an evening barbeque or relaxing with a book in the sun.
Bed and Breakfast in a Historical Cottage
Cottages of the 1850’s were built to protect and provide comfort and this cottage has sheltered its inhabitants for nearly 160 years. In the warmer months the thick stone walls provide protection from the heat, and when the weather turns wintery this sturdy little cottage becomes a warm haven.
For those wishing to relax, explore or forget about the world for a little while our self-contained bed and breakfast at the end of the Great Ocean Rd will continue to provide comfort all year round. It is perfect for heading west to Portland and Cape Bridgewater, or east and check out Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve, Warrnambool, and the gorgeous coastline.
Put your feet up in front of the open fire, listen to the wind blowing in off the Southern Ocean through the Norfolk Pines and imagine how the Bowyer family lived in these rooms all those years ago.

Thankyou for sharing this lovely house. We don’t want to leave! The house has given us peace from crazy lives and taken us back to simpler times. The garden allowed the girls to “explore” while we relaxed. We couldn’t have asked for more!
